Samurai Rugby creates Dubai 7s alliance with Kenyan Homeboyz

The International Invitational Tournament at the Dubai 7s this year, will be without last year’s Semi Finalists Samurai Rugby – or will it?

With the Samurai Team short of a sponsor for this year’s event, Samurai Rugby have provided tournament consultancy and general team assistance to Kenya 7s Series winners Homeboyz as they make their 1st appearance at the Tournament.

Homeboyz Chairman Myke Rabar and Samurai Rugby DOR Terry Sands, put their heads together recently to form an affiliation for the upcoming event. The Homeboyz Samurai Team will consist predominantly of players that represented Homeboyz on the recent Stanbic Bank Kenya 7s Series. However, 2 previous Samurai players Petrus Uys and Xander Kruger will be included in the 12-man team.

Homeboyz Samurai are in a very tough pool which includes SA 7s Academy, Germany and Russian 7s Team Kuban. At least 2 wins will be required to progress into the knockout stages, so preparation will be key to the team’s success.
